We asked OMS to evaluate all 12 tracks on the album American Idol Season 5 Encores . These tracks are performances by the top finalists from Season 5 .
All of the performances rated in the range of 140. Additionally, the OMS Profiles for these performances were nearly identical. Here are some factors which account for the similarity: Every track is a performance of a great pop classic (which in its best performances would rate far above 140); all of the performances are in a “party music” format; the performances are warm, communicative, “soulful”; instrumental backup is similar for every track (seems to be same personnel, etc.); performers show individuality, but not “too much” individuality. Janis Joplin would not fit in this collection.
